Cars For You is primarily a vehicle retailer, but buying a used car usually involves more than choosing one from a list. We can help with part exchange, vehicle preparation, inspections, delivery, collection and the practical paperwork around the purchase.
Part exchange
We consider part exchange against most vehicles in stock. The value depends on the car itself, mileage, mechanical condition, bodywork, specification, history and the type of vehicle we currently need.
An initial estimate can usually be discussed before you visit, but the final figure is only confirmed after we have physically inspected the vehicle.
For the most useful valuation, provide the registration number, current mileage, model and trim level, service-history information, MOT status and a straightforward description of any faults or damage.
Buying your car outright
You do not necessarily need to purchase another vehicle from us. We occasionally buy suitable cars directly for stock.
Cars that fit our normal inventory are usually the easiest for us to consider: clean everyday vehicles, interesting specifications, performance models, premium cars and well-kept modern classics.
Independent inspections
Customers are welcome to arrange an independent inspection before completing a purchase, provided it is booked with us in advance. This can be particularly useful for specialist, performance or older vehicles.
The inspection must take place at an agreed time and must not involve dismantling the vehicle without prior permission.
Vehicle delivery
Delivery can be arranged on many vehicles within mainland Great Britain. Cost depends on distance, vehicle size and whether a dedicated transporter is required.
Delivery is normally arranged only after cleared payment, signed paperwork and any identity checks required for the transaction have been completed.
Vehicle collection
Customers collecting in person should agree a collection time with the sales team. This allows us to complete final preparation and make sure the paperwork is ready before arrival.
Same-day collection is sometimes possible, but it depends on payment clearance, preparation and how busy the showroom is.

Availability varies by vehicle. Ask about the exact car you are considering and quote its CFY stock reference.

Vehicle preparation
Vehicles are prepared according to age, mileage and condition rather than pretending every used car should look factory-new.
- Mechanical checks Vehicles receive appropriate checks before retail sale. Requirements differ between newer everyday cars and older specialist vehicles.
- Cleaning Retail vehicles are cleaned before handover. Older or enthusiast cars may retain age-related marks that form part of their condition.
- Documentation Available service books, invoices, manuals and supporting documents are supplied with the vehicle where present.
- Fuel Cars are supplied with enough fuel for collection and normal handover use. They are not automatically supplied with a full tank.

Stock changes regularly, so it is worth contacting us if you are looking for something similar to the cars we normally sell but cannot currently see it online.
Tell us the make, model, approximate age, budget, preferred gearbox and anything that is essential to you. We cannot guarantee sourcing a specific vehicle, but the information helps when new stock becomes available.
